Crispell pitches well in a 5-1 loss to Linfield

TACOMA, WashingtonEric Crispell allowed just one earned run, and Corey Roberts collected three hits and an RBI, but the Puget Sound baseball team lost at home to Linfield, 5-1, on Tuesday.

Making his second start of the season for the Loggers (11-19, 7-14 NWC), Crispell tossed six innings, struck out five, and scattered seven hits. Linfield's (21-10, 16-5 NWC) four-run seventh inning stood as the difference.

Roberts knocked in Puget Sound's only run with a single through the right side that scored Layne Croney – who reached base with a double.

The Loggers host Cal Lutheran for a non-conference matchup on Thursday, April 13, at 3 p.m.
