The Loggers look to start a new winning streak at Linfield

TACOMA, Washington – After its seven-game winning streak was snapped with a pair of losses, the Puget Sound baseball team looks to get back on track with three Northwest Conference games at Linfield this weekend. The Loggers and Wildcats have a doubleheader Saturday, March 10, and the series concludes Sunday, March 11. Games on both days begin at 12 p.m.

Sharp Masonry

Mason Quinlan leads the NWC in hitting with a .440 batting average, and he ranks sixth in the NWC in slugging percentage (.560) and fifth in on-base percentage (.482).


It's OK to be sluggish

Nick Ultsch leads the NWC in slugging percentage (.754), and he is one of only two players in the league with multiple home runs (2) and multiple triples (2) so far this season.


Strash duty

Kyle Strash leads the NWC in on-base percentage with a .556 mark. He's hitting .407 entering this weekend, and has drawn eight walks in 28 at-bats.


A new ERA for Warnick

Michael Warnick, who was the Loggers' closer in 2017, has made three starts this season and he leads the NWC with a 0.90 ERA through 20 innings. He's also struck out 15 and walked only six.


Just (O)K

Among NWC pitchers who have made at least four starts this season, Joe Brennan ranks fifth in K/9 (8.55). He has punched out 19 batters in 20 innings.


Scouting Linfield (10-7, 5-4 NWC)

The Wildcats are 4-3 in their last seven games, alternating wins and losses during the stretch. Linfield's 105 runs scored this season rank second in the NWC, and their pitchers have a propensity for missing bats as Linfield leads the league in K/9 (8.68). Daniel Zavala is second in the NWC with 20 RBI, and he's one of two wildcats with two homers. Southpaw starter Cason Cunningham is 4-1 with a 3.28 ERA, and fellow lefty starter Carter Buuck is 3-1 with a 1.35 ERA.
