Loggers drop rubber match at Linfield

McMINNVILLE, Oregon – The Puget Sound baseball team was unable to climb out of a 4-0 hole as it lost at Linfield, 10-5, Sunday afternoon.

The Loggers (9-6, 3-4 NWC) trailed, 4-0, before putting their first runs on the board in the sixth inning. Jake Briscoe led off with a single to left field, and Cal Muramaru reached base on a bunt single to put two runners on.

Following a Mason Quinlan line out to center, Kyle Strash delivered a two-run double to right field. Strash would later come around to score on an error. 

Puget Sound loaded the bases in the ninth inning, and pushed two runners across the plate on RBI groundouts by Ryan Moyes and Jordan Hirae.

The Loggers play at Pacific Lutheran Tuesday, March 13, in a make-up game from mid-February. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
