Celebrating seniors

Before first pitch Saturday, the Loggers will honor seven senior student-athletes who are playing in their final Puget Sound games Saturday: Tyler Brazelton, Connor Dunn, Jack Gries, Tyler Huling, Dakota Marley, Nick Ultsch, and Michael Warnick. The Loggers will also pay tribute to their senior team manager, Robby Lundquist.

A night at Cheney

For the third consecutive year, Puget Sound hosted Pacific Lutheran for a non-conference game at Cheney Stadium, May 1. Cheney Stadium is the home of the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate Tacoma Rainiers. The end result was Pacific Lutheran's first win in three years over the Loggers, 7-3, at Cheney Stadium. Both Kyle Strash and Corey Roberts collected two hits in the game, including a double by Roberts.

Conference accolades

Four Loggers received All-Northwest Conference honors, the NWC announced earlier this week. Jack Gries and Mason Quinlan were named to the All-NWC Second Team, while Tyler Huling and Kyle Strash received All-NWC Honorable Mention. Gries and Strash are All-NWC honorees for the second consecutive year. Click HERE to read more.

Loggers vs. Whits

Puget Sound is 1-6 overall against the Pirates and Blues combined this season. However, several Loggers have thrived against the two NWC foes. During a three-game home series against Whitman, each of Puget Sound's starting pitchers (Davis Miller, Tyler Huling, Michael Warnick) allowed just one earned run through six innings of work. Kyle Strash is hitting 10-for-23 (.435) against the Whits the season.
