WASHINGTON – The Puget Sound men's varsity-eight did its best to keep pace with Division-I Gonzaga in Spokane, Washington, while other Puget Sound men's boats and women's boats competed in the Portland Easter Egg Race in Vancouver, Washington, on Saturday.
The men's varsity-eight crossed the finish line in 6:00.00, just 28.7 seconds behind Gonzaga.
The women's varsity-eight placed third out of seven boats during the first race of the day, timing in at 7:26.00. The women's third varsity-eight also placed second, crossing the finish line in 7:52.70. The women's varsity-four placed third with a time of 9:15.40.
The Logger men's junior varsity-eight placed fourth in Vancouver, timing in at 7:38.60.
Puget Sound competes in the Husky Invitational host by the University of Washington on April 2. The Loggers then hosted the Logger Invitational on April 9.
