Loggers to host NWC Rowing Championships on American Lake

TACOMA, Washington – It has been three years since Puget Sound won the inaugural Northwest Conference Rowing Championship, but the Loggers are poised the reclaim the title  when they host the league championships on American Lake in Lakewood, Washington, Sunday, April 22.

A dominant spring

Puget Sound earned three Northwest Conference Crew of the Week honors this spring. The WV8 earned the honor following both the Pacific Lutheran Invitational (March 10) and the Meyer/Lamberth Cup (March 24). The W2V8 was named the NWC Crew of the Week following the Husky Open (March 31).

 

Mills in the mix

Mills College, out of Oakland, California, joins the Northwest Conference for the first time this season. The Cyclones join Puget Sound, Lewis & Clark, Pacific, and Pacific Lutheran. 

 

Men's races

Following the women's races Sunday, men's boats will compete for the Rainier Cup on American Lake.

 

It's been a while

Puget Sound's last regatta was the Husky Open (March 31), since the Covered Bridge Regatta (April 7) was canceled due to high wins.
