TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound's men's and women's crew heads to Rancho Cordova, California, for the 2018 Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships, April 28-29.

In addition to NWC foes Mills, Lewis & Clark, and Pacific, the Loggers will race boats from Humboldt, Southern Oregon, Western Washington, UC-Davis, UC-San Diego, UC-Santa Barbara, and Oregon, just to name a few.
The Loggers' W3V8 and W2V8 won their races during the NWC Championships on American Lake (April 21), but Pacific Lutheran came away with the league crown after winning the WV8 race.
Rainier Cup Champions
Following the NWC Championships, the Logger men raced for – and won – the Rainier Cup. Puget Sound crossed the finish line in 7:10.3, beating Pacific Lutheran by more than 30 seconds, and toping a Lewis & Clark boat by almost 40 seconds.
Last year's WIRA Championships
The women's WV8 finished third in the 2017 Petite Final, timing in at 6:52.921. The WV28 finished its race in 6:51.190.
