Jackson nominated for AFCA Good Works Team

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound incoming junior Dwight Jackson was nominated for the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Allstate Good Works Team. The Logger football program earned a nomination for the fourth consecutive year: Brett Pilling '17 (2016), Misha Gordon '16 (2015), Max Mirande '15 (2014).

Jackson, a linebacker from Stockton, California, is one of 146 nominees across all levels of collegiate football. The Good Works Team recognizes "a select group of college football players from across the country to honor their dedication to volunteerism and enriching the lives of others."

Jackson's long list of community service and volunteerism includes the Tacoma City Marathon, Special Olympics Field Day and Basketball Tournament, Relay for Life, Adopt-a-Family, Trick-or-Can, Earth Day Conservation, Chest Press for ALS, and more.

The Loggers open the 2017 season at La Verne on Sept. 2. The first home game of the year is Sept. 9 against Occidental. Click HERE for the 2017 schedule.
