Logger Women Swing Past Lutes

LAKEWOOD, Wash. - Led by a five-over 78 from junior Sarah Bicker (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline), the Puget Sound Loggers posted a 19-stroke victory over the Pacific Lutheran Lutes in a women's golf dual on Sunday afternoon at Oakbrook Country Club in Lakewood, Wash.

Fellow junior Natalie Nakamine (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt) shot an 11-over 84 to take second but the Lutes, led by a 14-over 87 from Katrina Shelton, took the third, fourth and fifth spots to keep the dual close.  Seniors Megan Starr (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) fired a 94 and Maresa Jenson (Whitefish, Mont.) shot a 95 as the Loggers finished with a 351, their third best round of the season.  The Lutes finished the dual with a score of 370.

The Loggers will be back in action next weekend when they head down to Tumwater for the PLU Invitational on Mar. 27 and 28 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
