Women's golf places 8th, men finish 12th this past weekend

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's golf team placed eighth at the Pacific Fall Opener this past weekend while the men's team finished 12th at the St. Martin's Invitational.

The Logger women shot a 440 on Saturday and followed with a 447 on Sunday for a total of 887 (+311). Molly Nelson set the pace for Puget Sound by shooting a 105 on the first day, followed by a 104 (209, +65) and finished 34th overall. Teammate Lisa Hawkins followed close behind after she also shot a 104 on Sunday to finish with a two-day score of 218 (+74) while finishing 35th overall.  

Hannah Robideaux (229, +85) and Lauren Boniface (231, +87) finished in 36th and 37th, respectively.

The men shot a three-day score of 923, including a team-best 301 on the second day. Adam Bean led the way for Puget Sound as he finished tied for 32nd with a combined score of 221 (+8), including a 71 on the second day. He finished three strokes off of the program record for a 54-hole score. Ricky Howard placed tied for 51st overall with a score of 228 (+15), including 72 on the second day.
The men next compete at the Whitman Invitational on Oct. 4 while the women compete at the Whitworth Invitational that same weekend.
