TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound golf teams wrapped competition in eastern Washington, as the women placed fourth in the Whitworth Invitational and the men finished sixth in the Whitman Invitational.
Emmi Modahl was the top finisher for the Puget Sound women. The freshman placed 12th out of 23 golfers, shooting 33 over par between the two rounds. Allyson Nitani shot a +49, including a 99 in the first round followed by a 96, to place 19th for the Loggers.
Pacific Lutheran won the women's event by shooting 61 over par.
On the men's side, the Loggers shot a +69 as a team. David Folloett – Puget Sound's top finisher – went 77 in the first round and 80 in the second round to finish 13 over part, good to tie for 14th out of 52 golfers. Brett Golden and Casey Weston tied for 28th overall after finishing 18 over par.
George Fox won the Whitman Invitational by shooting +26 as a team.
Both Logger teams next compete in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic starting on Oct. 8.
