TACOMA, Washington – The final outing of the 2018 fall golf schedule is set for this weekend as the Puget Sound men's and women's golf teams compete in the Whitman Fall Invitational, Oct. 20-21, at Veterans Memorial Golf Club in Walla Walla, Washington.
The last outing
The last time the Logger men and women competed was in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic, Oct. 13-14. Linfield was the host. The Logger men placed sixth and the women finished seventh. The Puget Sound men shot +57 through the two rounds. Colin Rajczak led the Loggers by placing eighth overall (+7), and Cole Albert finished tied for 12th (+9). The Logger women shot +192 between Saturday and Sunday. Kristi Koyanagi tied for 16th (+33), and Hayley Hileman finished 34th (+53).
Freshman nears record
Reynn Hoshide placed third overall to lead the Puget Sound men's golf team to a fourth-place finish in the Puget Sound Invitational, Sept. 29-30. Hoshide shot just one over part through the two rounds. After a 77 in the first round, he came back in a big way by shooting a 68 in the second round. Hoshide's second-round score was one stroke shy of tying Adam Bean's program record for best 18-hole score.
