Shelton Tabbed As NWC Student-Athlete of the Week

SEATTLE – For the first time this season, a member of the Logger men's basketball team has been selected as the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week. Junior Kaleb Shelton earned the honor after back-to-back 20-point games this week.

Shelton, a forward from Tacoma, Wash., scored 22 points in the Loggers win over Bethany on Dec. 20. He also added 10 rebounds against Bethany for his fourth double-double of the season. Shelton also scored 20 points against San Jose State to give him four consecutive games with at least 20 points.

Shelton and the Loggers return home for their final non-conference game against Cal Baptist on Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Fieldhouse.

Riggs Yarbro played in 16 games as a freshman and is looking to step into a bigger role on the team this year. He knew he wanted to be a Logger from the first time he visited campus. “The rigorous academic environment and strong sense of community were both important to me, as well as the opportunity to play basketball for a competitive program.”
