TACOMA, Washington – Six players scored in double digits as the Puget Sound men's basketball team defeated New Hope Christian 103-65 in the final game of the first day of the McArthur Classic in the Memorial Fieldhouse on Saturday evening.
Kohl Meyer made eight three-pointers and led the Loggers (1-1) in scoring with 16 points. He also added team highs in assists (five) and rebounds (six). Advit Raghavan (10), Andre Lewis (12), Carlos Mancasola (11), Jimmy Wohrer (10), and Keith Shattuck (11) each reached double digit scoring as well.
Puget Sound shot 53.8 percent from the field, while the Deacons (3-6) shot 40.7 percent. The Loggers were 12-for-37 (34.4 percent) from beyond the arc. The team outrebounded New Hope 43-35. Carlos McLeod led all scorers with 28 points for the Deacons.
The Loggers surpassed the century mark for the first time this year in Saturday's victory. The team scored 100 or more in one game in 2014-15 (Dec. 19, 2014).
Puget Sound will next play Texas Lutheran on Saturday, November 21 at 8 p.m. in the second day of the McArthur Classic.
