Loggers fall to No. 17 Chicago

PARKLAND, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team lost to No. 17 Chicago 75-46 in the PLU Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Andre Lewis led the way for the Loggers (2-3) with 11 points, while Kyle King chipped in 10 points.  Kohl Meyer recorded six points and added three steals.  

Puget Sound was able to stick with the nationally ranked Maroons (4-2), trading baskets for the first 10 minutes of the game. The two teams were tied 14-14 with 9:19 left in the first half.  Chicago then went on a 12-2 run to open a 26-16 lead with 5:27 remaining in the first half.

Chicago shot almost 50 percent from the field (49.1 percent), and began to build their lead in the second half. Puget Sound's shooting went cold, and the Loggers ultimately fell.

Puget Sound shot 27.3 percent (18-for-66) from the field, and just 10.0 percent from beyond the arc (2-for-20). Chicago was 11-for-31 (35.5 percent) when attempting three-pointers, and outrebounded the Loggers 47-34. Four Maroons scored in double figures.

Puget Sound will next play at Pacific Lutheran on Tuesday, December 1. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m.
