Loggers go cold in the second half, lose at PLU

PARKLAND, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team shot the ball with confidence through the first half at Pacific Lutheran, but the Loggers went cold in the second half as the Lutes took advantage for a 75-63 win on Tuesday night.

The Loggers (12-12, 5-10 NWC) held a one-point lead at halftime, 39-38. Jimmy Wohrer was on fire in the first half, shooting 6-for-8 from 3-point range for all 18 of his points on the night. As a team, the Loggers shot 53.6 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes.

However, the Loggers went cold in the second half. Puget Sound shot 25 percent from the floor in the last 20 minutes, while the Lutes (12-12, 7-8 NWC) shot 8-for-13 from beyond the arc in the final period.

Kohl Meyer finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and five steals. Kyle King tallied 11 points and five rebounds, while Stellan Roberts totaled eight points and six boards.

The Loggers conclude the regular season at Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m.
