Pouring in points

The Loggers are the sixth-highest scoring team in NCAA D-III, as of Nov. 28. Puget Sound averages 103.5 points per game. Click HERE for more details.

It's not all offensive

While Puget Sound's offensive numbers are eye-popping, its defensive efforts have helped set the tone. The Loggers are forcing 29.8 turnovers per game.

Wohrer's way

Junior guard Jimmy Wohrer is off to a great start this season. He is the Loggers' leading scorer, and the league's second-leading scorer, with 23.2 points per game, and he has two Logger of the Week honors and a Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week nod to his credit.

Fire away

The Loggers have attempted 252 3-pointers through six games this season, and they're shooting at a 34.9 percent clip. George Fox has attempted the second-most 3-pointers in the NWC – 152 in five games.

Starting strong

The Loggers' 6-0 start to this season is the program's best start since winning the first 10 games of the 2011-12 campaign.

Free T-shirts

Logger fans, make sure to bring your phones to this weekend's games. The first 75 fans – each night – to show they follow the Loggers on Instagram (@PSloggers) will receive a free Puget Sound basketball t-shirt. Limit one t-shirt per fan this weekend. Desired sizes are not guaranteed. Fans can also register for the halftime gear-grab, where participants will have 30 seconds to put on (and keep) as much Logger gear as possible at halfcourt.

Scouting No. 13 Whitworth (5-0)

The Pirates are capitalizing on their opportunities from the free-throw line, and lead the NWC with a 76.2 free-throw percentage. Whitworth's defense is holding the opposition to league-low 37.5 field-goal percentage, and the Pirates are allowing the fewest points per game (65.0). Ben College is the team's leading scorer with 18.8 points per game.

Scouting No. 1 Whitman (3-0)

The Blues lead the league in field-goal percentage (50.6 percent), assists (23.3), steals (20.7), and points (117.0). Joey Hewitt is the league's third-leading scorer with 22.0 points per game, and Jack Stewart is 11-for-18 (64.7 percent) from 3-point range - which leads the NWC in 3-point efficiency.
