Early goal too much to overcome for Loggers

TACOMA, Washington – The University of Puget Sound men's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday afternoon.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (2-1) took the early lead in the second minute when McKenna Cook headed in an errant clearance by the Loggers defense.

The rest of the game was played out evenly, but Puget Sound (2-2) was unable to break through in the attacking third, and ultimately fell to the Crusaders.

Puget Sound took more corner kicks (7-6), while Mary Hardin-Baylor edged the Loggers in shots (11-9). Ezra Kraus led the squad with four shots, while goalkeeper Daniel Kirsch (2-2) had three saves.

Puget Sound's next match will be Sunday, September 13, when they host the University of Massachusetts-Boston. The game is set to kick-off at 12 p.m. at East Field.
