Puget Sound comes up one goal short against Pacific

FOREST GROVE, Oregon –The Puget Sound men's soccer team came up short against Pacific Saturday afternoon, 1-0.

The Loggers are ranked No. 5 in this week's United Coaches West Regional poll, and were on a three-game win streak before falling to the Boxers.

Pacific logged its goal in the 58th minute when James Curro netted the ball far post from 25 yards out.

Even though the Loggers were unable to close the deficit, they out-shot the Boxers, 10-6, and tallied six more corner kicks than Pacific.

Puget Sound goalkeeper Robert Jorgensen recorded three saves, two of which were in the second half.

The Loggers remain in Oregon, to take on George Fox Sunday, Oct. 1, at 12 p.m.
