Men's soccer to host Northwest Christian, Brooklyn

TACOMA, Washington – Searching for its first win of the season, the Puget Sound men's soccer team competes in its first home games of the season when the Loggers host Northwest Christian and Brooklyn this week.

Texas heartache

The Loggers opened the 2018 season in Texas, where it lost the season-opener at Mary Hardin-Baylor, 2-1, in double overtime. The following day Puget Sound suffered another one-goal loss, 1-0, at Texas-Tyler.

 

Warm foot Luke

Puget Sound junior forward Luke Murdock, the Loggers' top returning scorer from the 2017 season, is just warming up. He netted a goal against Mary Hardin-Baylor, and he leads the team in shot attempts with five.

 

Looking ahead

The Loggers host the first Northwest Conference games of the season when Linfield and Willamette visit Tacoma, Sept. 15-16.

 

Scouting Northwest Christian (1-2-0)

NAIA members of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Beacons have surrendered 10 goals in three games. Seven of those goals were against Menlo.

 

Scouting Brooklyn (0-3)

Members of the CUNY Athletic Conference, Brooklyn brings to Tacoma an 0-3 record and 13 goals allowed. The Bulldogs have yet to find the back of the net.
