Puget Sound tennis teams take on Lewis & Clark, George Fox

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's tennis teams are split home and away for Northwest Conference matches against Lewis & Clark and George Fox this weekend.

The Logger women host the Pioneers Saturday, March 9, at 12 p.m., while the men compete at Lewis & Clark at the same time. The following day the men remain in Oregon for an 11 a.m. match against the Bruins, and the women host George Fox for the same start time.

This weekend marks the first NWC contests for both Puget Sound teams. The Logger men opened the season with a 9-0 non-conference loss against Pacific Lutheran. The Puget Sound women narrowly lost to Whitworth, 5-4, in a non-conference contest, March 2. The women defeated Pacific Lutheran, 8-1, to begin the 2019 campaign.

Lisa Owen and Nicole Bouche are off to a stellar start as the Loggers' No. 1 and No. 2 players. They both won singles matches against Whitworth, and teamed up for a 9-7 victory at No. 1 doubles. Bridget Myers has also stepped up with a couple of singles victories through three matches this season.

Senior Riley Inn is locked in as the No. 1 player for the Logger men, and Joshua Wah-Blumberg has been competing in the No. 2 slot.

Following this weekend, the Logger men host Willamette and Pacific (March 16-17), while the women compete on the road against those NWC counterparts.
