KEAAU, Hawaii – The Puget Sound men's and women's swim teams narrowly lost to Division I University of Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
Keven Henley won the 50 freestyle (21.33), finished second in the 100 freestyle (48.02), and third in the 200 freestyle (1:53.93). Nick Mitchell came in second in the 500 freestyle (4:46.32), 100 butterfly (56.08), and 200 freestyle (1:48.84). The Logger men fell 71-70 to the Golden Gophers.
On the women's side, Auri Clark placed second in the 200 IM (2:19.37) and the 100 butterfly (1:02.16). Sam Anders won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.31. The Puget Sound women fell 74-69.
This was the first dual meet for the Loggers against a Division I foe since 2009, when Puget Sound fell to Seattle University.
Both Puget Sound teams next compete at home against Simon Fraser on Jan. 16.
