Logger swim teams fall to the Pirates on the road

SPOKANE, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's swim teams resumed Northwest Conference action at Whitworth Friday evening. The Logger men lost to the Pirates, 152-47, and the Puget Sound women fell short, 139-66.

Calista Skog won the women's 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.10, and Aza Verhoeven was second in the 200 backstroke by timing in at 2:15.47. Bridget Fetty placed second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:20.40.

The women's 400 freestyle team was victorious (3:54.27) thanks to the efforts of Skog, Allison Hoops, Sofi Vazquez, and Skye McCurdy.

Matthew Cole placed second in the men's 50 freestyle with a time of 22.31, and Eli Champagne also claimed a second-place finish by timing at 2:00.33 in the 200 butterfly.

The Loggers return to the pool at Whitman Saturday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m.
