Cerne, McDonald Hit NWC Qualifying Marks In Decathlon

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Both Joe Cerne and Myles McDonald qualified for the decathlon at the NWC Championships later this spring with solid scores at the Pacific Preview this weekend. Cerne totaled 5243 points in the decathlon while McDonald totaled 5053 points.

On the second day, Cerne earned first-place points in the pole vault. He finished tied for first a vault of 11-9.75, tying with Nathan Stecker of Warner Pacific.

McDonald highlight his second day with a personal-best throw in the javelin. His heave of 153-06 placed second in front of Cerne, who placed third with a toss of 149-06.

The Loggers will next compete at the Redlands Invitational on Mar. 18 before returning home to host the Peyton Scoring Meet on Mar. 25-26.
