TACOMA, Washington – The men's and women's track & field teams are set to compete in the NWC Championships, hosted by Lewis & Clark, this weekend.
Several Loggers hold the top times for different events this year. Allanah Whitehall will be competing in the women's 100 (11.98) and 200 meters (24.99) after recording the top NWC times for the season. She holds the Puget Sound school record in the 100-meter. Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski has the top qualifying time for the 1500 meters (3:57.67). Tyler Shipley will be competing in the 5000 (14:22.47) and 10000 (30:19.25) meters. On the field side, Elizabeth King has the best qualifying score in the pole vault (3.55m). Whitehall and Shipley are both looking to defend their titles from last year at the NWC Championships.
Other events to watch for
Cameron Braithwaite will compete in six events, including the 110-meter hurdles and pole vault. He recently took fourth place at the NWC Multi-Events. Sam Carilli will join Lizier-Zmudzinski in the 1500. The men's 400-meter relay team of Braithwaite, Ross MacAusland, Graham Cobb, and Chris Branham will compete on Saturday, as will the 1600-meter relay team.
On the women's side, Mara Cummings will all be competing in the 400-meters, while Emery Bradlina and Alison Wise will be in the 800-meters. Tori Klein and Taili Ni will compete in the 5000 meters. The 400-meter relay team of Logan Bays, Cummings, Anna Joseph, and Whitehall will compete Sunday morning, while the 1600-meter relay team of Whitehall, Cummings, Wise, and Bradlina will vie for the title Saturday afternoon.
