TACOMA, Washington – Matt Wells qualified to compete in the NCAA D-III Outdoor Championships, the NCAA announced this weekend. The Championships are May 24-26 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Wells will compete in both the 110-m hurdles and the decathlon. His top time in the 110-m hurdles this spring is 14.54 seconds, a mark he achieved during the St. Martin's Jay Hammer Invitational, April 14. That time is .04 seconds off from trying Bill Hines' school record.
Well's 6,263 points in the decathlon during the Northwest Conference Multi-Events is the 20th highest score in D-III this season.
Wells is the 2018 NWC Champion in the 110-m hurdles, and he finished third in the decathlon during the NWC Championships.
