LA CROSSE, Wisconsin - Matt Wells set two personal records competing in the men's decathlon during the NCAA Division-III Outdoor Championships, which concluded Saturday in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Wells cleared 1.99-m in the high jump, and threw 37.09-m in the discus, both of which are personal bests. He finished third in both events.
Wells won the decathlon's 110-m hurdles by crossing the finish line in 15.03 seconds, but he needed to withdraw from remaining events.
During the 2017-18 academic year, Wells earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-West Region honors for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
