SAAC To Host Annual Coin Drive This Weekend
The Puget Sound Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be holding its annual "Coin Drive" this weekend during Friday and Saturday's basketball doubleheaders. This year, SAAC will be making equal donations to breast cancer and prostate cancer research.
Every year, all nine members of the Northwest Conference participate in the SAAC "Coin Drive Challenge." The Coin Drive is a competition between each school to see who can raise the most money in a 48-hour period. Puget Sound will use Feb. 8-9 as its 48-hour window.
All activities will be centered around the Puget Sound basketball games at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. against Lewis & Clark on Friday and Linfield on Saturday.
On Friday, the student-athletes will be starting a mustache competition among the male staff members at Puget Sound. Fans can "vote" for the three staff members they want to see grow a mustache with a donation to the Coin Drive.
On Saturday, fans will receive an entry for a chance to compete in a three-point shootout for free pizza with a donation. The shootout will take place at halftime of the men's game.
Make sure to stop by the tables in the lobby of the Fieldhouse during both games for more information to participate in this year's Coin Drive.
