TACOMA, Washington – Emily Sheldon has been named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, the NWC announced on Tuesday.
Sheldon, a Portland, Oregon, native had a pair of 20-point games over the weekend, and averaged 17.0 points per game in the Loggers' three games last week. The senior had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 84-67 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. She also added five assists. The following day, Sheldon scored 20 points and tallied three rebounds, four steals and an assist in the Loggers' win against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. She also recorded nine points, five rebounds, and three assists in a mid-week loss to La Verne.
Sheldon reached the 1,000-point mark of her career over the week, and is now averaging 19.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 3.0 apg over Puget Sound's first six games of the season. She is shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Puget Sound next plays at Pacific Lutheran Tuesday, December 1 at 6 p.m.
