TACOMA, Washington – Emily Sheldon, Alexis Noren, and Samone Jackson combined for 53 points, but Pacific came back for a 78-70 overtime win against the Puget Sound women's basketball team in Memorial Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Sheldon came one rebound away from her third double-double of the season as she finished with a team-high 22 points and nine rebounds. Jackson added 19 points and led the Loggers with five assists. Noren finished with 12 points, six boards, and three steals.
The Loggers held a one-point lead, 47-46, entering the fourth quarter, but a pair of free-throws by Allie Wyszynski added to the lead, 49-46. Puget Sound's advantage grew to 56-49 following two Jackson free-throws with 4:14 left in regulation.
The Boxers stormed back and cut the Loggers' lead to 62-60 with 14 seconds left. Noren was intentionally fouled, but she connected on one of two free-throws. Pacific capitalized on the opportunity when Sarah Curl hit a pull-up 3-pointer with five seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, 63-63.
Pacific shot 6-for-7 from the floor in the extra period, as the Loggers hit 2-of-7 in the final five minutes.
The Loggers look to bounce back when they host Linfield on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 4 p.m.
