PARKLAND, Washington - The Puget Sound women's basketball team ended the Pacific Lutheran Tournament with a win after dominating Aurora, 62-32, Sunday afternoon.
Lange's fifth double-double of the season came to the tune of 26 points and 17 rebounds. Josephine Huletz dished out five assists in just 16 minutes on the floor for the Loggers.
The Loggers kicked off their 30-point win by only allowing the Spartans to sink three points in the first quarter, while tallying 18 of their own.
Puget Sound continued to control the game in the second ten minutes, permitting Aurora to only eight more points before half.
The Loggers held a 28-11 entering the third quarter, and recorded six unanswered points by Lange and Mara Henderson before the Spartans could notch a basket. By the end of the third Puget Sound had increased its advantage to 24 points.
Aurora got on the board first in the fourth quarter, but Lange swiftly netted seven unanswered points.
The Loggers were a solid 75 percent from the free-throw line, and the defense forced the Spartans into 25 turnovers.
Puget Sound takes on Trinity (Tex.) on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m.
