SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Jamie Lange extended her double-double streak to four consecutive games, but the Puget Sound women's basketball team lost at No. 19/13 (D3hoops/WBCA) Trinity (Tex.), 77-46, as part of the Trinity Women's Basketball Christmas Classic Wednesday afternoon.
Lange notched 11 points and 13 rebounds during her 20 minutes on the floor, marking her sixth double-double this season. The sophomore has at least 13 rebounds in her last four games. Lange leads the Northwest Conference in both points per game (16.1) and rebounds per game (13.1).
The Loggers (5-5) stayed within striking distance through the first 10 minutes, as the Tigers (5-1) held a 19-15 lead. However, Trinity erupted in the second quarter and carried a 41-23 lead into halftime.
The Loggers committed 26 turnovers and shot 30.2 percent from the floor, but they will have the chance to bounce back against Schreiner on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 12 p.m. (PT) in the final day of the Christmas Classic.
