MCMINNVILLE, Oregon – Jamie Lange notched her fourth double-double of the season, but the Puget Sound women's basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped by Linfield in double overtime, 91-84.
Lange scored 24 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. RaeAnn Allen scored a career-high 17 points against Linfield (6-7, 2-2 NWC), shooting an efficient 7-for-13 from the floor. Elizabeth Prewitt netted 22 points, marking her fourth 20-point game of the season.
Puget Sound (9-3, 2-2 NWC) had a couple of chances to put the game away at the free-throw line. With one second left in regulation and the Loggers trailing by one, Lange stepped to the charity stripe for two attempts. She nailed the first to tie the game, 68-68, but she missed the second and the game went into overtime.
Allen had a similar opportunity late in the first overtime. With the game tied, 77-77, and two seconds on the clock, Allen went to the line for two attempts. She missed both opportunities, and the teams competed for five more minutes.
The Loggers aim to start a new win streak at home against Willamette Friday, Jan. 11. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
