Puget Sound got on the board first, going up 1-0 on a Holgate goal with 23:45 remaining in the game. The two teams traded goals, and were tied, 2-2, halfway through the first half. Whitman (3-8, 3-2 NWC) scored the next five goals. However, the Loggers scored the final two goals of the half, including a free position shot by Krietzman with one second remaining. Whitman outscored Puget Sound 6-4 in the second half to earn the victory.
Goalkeeper Leah Stromberg (1-10) made 12 saves. Smith and Elena Becker led the Loggers with five ground balls, while Smith had three draw controls.
Puget Sound will next travel to Pacific on Saturday, April 16. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
