Lacrosse welcomes Bruins, Boxers this weekend

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound lacrosse team is play a pair of Northwest Conference games this weekend. The Loggers welcome George Fox on Saturday, before taking on Pacific on Sunday.

Puget Sound's last games

The Loggers (4-2, 1-1 NWC) most recently went 2-0 on their Spring Break trip to Texas. Puget Sound first took down Carroll, 10-3, before defeating Dallas, 14-8. Meghan Bacher, Hannah Nichols, Roxanne Krietzman, and Ali Walker all scored two goals against Carroll; while Ella Frazer and Krietzman each scored three times against Dallas. Ally Benko went 2-0 in goal.  

Logger leaders

Roxanne Krietzman and Haley Schuster lead Puget Sound with 15 goals this season. Ella Frazer is just behind with 13 goals, while Meghan Bacher has recorded 12 goals. Marcella Heineke leads the squad with 23 ground balls. Frazer leads the Loggers with 19 draw controls, and Elena Becker has caused a team-high 13 turnovers. Ally Benko is 3-2 in goal, with a 10.00 goals-against average.

Scouting the Bruins (5-2, 2-0 NWC)

George Fox University most recently fell to Redlands, 12-11, after defeating Pomona-Pitzer, 13-12, and Whittier, 9-8, in double overtime. The Bruins score 12 goals per game, led by Miranda Edwords with 25 goals. Jennifer Burke leads the squad with 26 draw controls, while Mikaela Easterlin has a team-high 34 ground balls. Easterlin is 5-2 in goal, making 64 saves with a 10.06 goals-against average.

Scouting the Boxers (3-4, 0-2 NWC)

Pacific University most recently fell to Southwestern, 12-11, after taking down Dallas, 18-2. The team scores 11.86 goals per game. Paisley Hiefield leads the Boxers with 19 goals, while April Lanz has 18. Meg Chapman leads the squad in ground balls (22) and caused turnovers (21). Adrienne Salzwedel is 3-4 in goal, making 50 saves with a 11.92 goals-against average.
