Lacrosse set to wrap up season on the road at Pacific, George Fox

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound lacrosse team wraps up the season with a pair of Northwest Conference games this weekend. The Loggers will play Pacific on Saturday, before taking on George Fox on Sunday.

Puget Sound's last weekend

The Loggers (5-6, 2-4 NWC) most hosted Whitman for a NWC matchup, and fell, 16-5. Puget Sound trailed the Blues by just three goals early in the second half, before Whitman outscored the Loggers 9-1 to finish the game. Meghan Bacher and Hannah Nichols each scored two goals in the game.   

Logger leaders

Meghan Bacher leads Puget Sound with 24 goals and eight assists, while Haley Schuster has 19 goals this season. Marcella Heineke leads the squad with 37 ground balls. Ella Frazer leads the Loggers with 30 draw controls, and Elena Becker has caused a team-high 25 turnovers. Ally Benko is 4-6 in goal, with a 12.45 goals-against average.

Scouting the Boxers (5-6, 2-4 NWC)

Pacific University most recently fell to George Fox, 12-8, and Whitman, 14-9. The team scores 11.91 goals per game, led by April Lanz, who has 31 goals and also leads the squad with 12 assists and 57 draw controls. Paisley Hiefield has 26 goals, and Jordyn Godfrey has 21 goals. Meg Chapman leads the Boxers with 35 groundballs and 34 caused turnovers.  

Scouting the George Fox (10-2, 6-0 NWC)

George Fox University most recently defeated Pacific, 12-8, and Linfield, 19-2. The team is riding a five-game winning streak. The Bruins score 13.67 goals per game, led by Miranda Edwords, who has 42 goals. Jess Hanson has 28 goals and 11 assists, while Jennifer Burke has 20 goals and 12 assists. Burke leads the squad with 51 draw control. Mikaela Easterlin has a team-high 45 ground balls, while Katelyn Bradshaw leads the Bruins with 21 caused turnovers. Easterlin is 7-2 in goal, with a 8.14 goals-against average.
