TACOMA, Washington – Annie Prickett scored her second goal in as many games, but the Puget Sound women's soccer team tied Linfield, 1-1, on Sunday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Lauren Thomas and the Puget Sound defense allowed a goal for the first time in five games (457 minutes).
The Loggers (5-0-2, 1-0-2 NWC) and Wildcats (4-0-1, 1-0-1 NWC) entered halftime in a scoreless tie. Linfield had the best chance to score in the first period when Jamie Neimann hit the crossbar in the 36th minute.
Prickett put Puget Sound on the board in the 52nd minute after receiving a pass from Cassie Winter from the left side. Prickett buried the offering from six-yards out to give the Loggers a 1-0 lead.
The Wildcats quickly threatened to answer when they were awarded a penalty kick two minutes later, but Emma Vukic's shot hit the crossbar. Linfield broke through in the 76th minute when Shelby DeRocher scored from 20 yards out.
Dating back to last fall, the Loggers are unbeaten in 10 consecutive regular-season games. Puget Sound looks to improve on that streak when it plays at Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 26.
