TACOMA, Washington - Puget Sound women's soccer head coach Joe Vari is proud to welcome 10 recruits, and one transfer, to the Loggers' program.
"I'm excited about our 2018 class, as it really shows the ability of Puget Sound to draw students from all over the West Region," said Vari. "This group is going to be a great addition to our returning players. The new Loggers will help improve our depth while challenging to make immediate impacts. I think this group embodies what it means to be a Logger: they are strong athletes, great students, and fit our campus and team culture."
Tess Carden / Seattle, Wash. / Holy Names Academy
Tess Carden was a holding midfielder for PacNW 00 Maroon. Carden has the potential to take over the tempo of a game and can dictate play from her holding position.
Kalina Cordero / Tukwila, Wash. / JFK Memorial
Kalina Cordero was a defender for PacNW 99 Maroon and a Second Team 4A NPSL Cascade All-League selection her senior year at JFK Memorial. Cordero is as competitive as they come and has a great tactical understanding of the game.
Hayden Hotchkiss / Boulder, Colo. / Boulder
Hayden Hotchkiss played club soccer for FC Boulder, and she missed her junior year due to injury. Hotchkiss attended the Loggers' August ID Camp (2017) just after getting cleared for competition and she immediately impressed the coaching staff.
Genny Jilka / Tucson, Ariz. / Ironwood Ridge
Genny Jilka played club soccer for TSA 00/99 Red and was a Firat Team Southern Arizona selection. Jilka's skills will allow her to play different positions for the Loggers.
Meghan Jones / Los Angeles, Calif. / Palisades Charter
Meghan Jones played club for La Galaxy South Bay 2000 Elite. Jones was great in the Loggers' August ID Camp (2017) and really has a nose for attacking the goal. She is relentless in going forward and creates a lot of chances.
Kaitlyn McIsaac / San Jose, Calif. / Santa Teresa
Kaitlyn McIsaac played center defender for Palo Alto SC 99 Blue. McIsaac is a lock-down defender and excels in reading the game. She has the ability to stop an attack and spring a counter attack of our own.
Airam Perez / West Valley City, Utah / Rowland Hall
Airam Perez is a First Team All-State Desert News and co-captain of state championship team at Rowland Hall. Perez impressed the Loggers' coaching staff from the beginning the ID Camp and again during her visit.
Kylee Roath / Bend, Ore. / Bend Senior
Kylee Roath is the Loggers' second player from Bend FC Timbers in the last two years. She has played as a central defender, an outside defender, and a winger in the last year.
Scotti Russell / Ruston, Wash. / George Fox University
Scotti Russell will bring a year of experience in the Northwest Conference as she comes back to the Tacoma area. She played in 17 games for the Bruins last year, including 10 starts.
Layla Santos / Waipahu, Hawaii / Punahou School
Layla Santos was an attacking midfielder for the Leahi 99/00 Premier team. She's a very technical player that has very good spacial awareness and can create as a midfielder.
Kiana Serrao / Hilo, Hawaii / Waiakea
Ki Serrao is a forward from Big Island Rush 00. Serrao came to the Loggers' February ID Camp and performed really well.
