Berg's overtime goal lifts Loggers over Bruins

NEWBERG, Oregon – The trip to Oregon began how it started – with an overtime win. Two days after beating Pacific in double-overtime, the Puget Sound women's soccer team got the best of George Fox in overtime, 1-0, Sunday afternoon.

Gabbie Berg provided the game-winner in the 98th minute on a counter-attack score that was assisted by CeAnn Romanaggi. Berg ties Lura Morton for the team-lead in scoring with three goals. Morton scored the game-winner against the Boxers Friday. 

Jamie Lange turned away five shots for her second shutout in the past three games. She leads the Northwest Conference in saves with 68.

Puget Sound (5-4-1, 4-3-1 NWC) out-shot George Fox (3-4-1, 1-4-1), 22-13. 

Sunday was the Loggers' fifth overtime game through 10 contests this season. The Loggers were winless in their first three extra-period games.

Puget Sound hosts Pacific Lutheran for a midweek game against Pacific Lutheran Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m.
