WALLA WALLA, Washington – Genevieve Cheatham and Gabbie Berg both scored as the Puget Sound women's soccer team beat Whitman, 2-0, on the road Saturday afternoon. The Loggers are unbeaten through their last six games.
Cheatham's second goal of the season came in the 39th minute for the Loggers (7-4-2, 6-1-2 NWC). She intercepted a bad pass in the Blue's (1-9-1, 3-6 NWC) backfield and beat the keeper.
Berg netted her fourth goal of the season in the 72nd minute, when she buried a cross from Cheatham. Berg is tied with Lura Morton for the team lead in scoring.
Jamie Lange held the opposition scoreless for the fourth consecutive game by recording three saves. She has allowed only one goal through the past 587 minutes of game time.
The Loggers remain on the road to battle Whitworth Sunday, Oct. 14, at 12 p.m.
