Women's tennis set for two matches, including battle at PLU

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's tennis team has two matches on tap this weekend, starting with crosstown rival Pacific Lutheran Friday, Feb. 9, at 4 p.m. The Loggers then host University of British Columbia, Sunday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m.

  

Last year vs. the Lutes

Puget Sound beat Pacific Lutheran twice in 2017, by scores of 8-1 and 6-3. Between their respective singles and doubles matches, Tressa Bild, Nicole Bouche, and Lisa Owen lost only once in four tries against Pacific Lutheran.

 

To start the season

Puget Sound lost at Willamette, 7-2, in the first matchup of the 2018 season. Barclay Fagg won at No. 3 singles for the Loggers (6-4, 6-2). Fagg teamed up with Tamara Runnicles to win No. 3 doubles, 9-8 (8-6).

 

Looking ahead

Puget Sound hosts Spokane Falls Community College Feb. 18, and then takes on NCAA D-I San Jose State (at Portland State) Feb. 24.
