Volleyball opens 2017 season with Puget Sound Premiere

TACOMA, Washington – Memorial Fieldhouse will be rocking once again. The Puget Sound volleyball team opens the 2017 season by hosting 12 matches in two days as part of the Puget Sound Premiere, Sept. 1-2. The Loggers welcome five opponents from all over the country.


Special guests

In addition to crosstown rival Pacific Lutheran, the Loggers welcome Clarkson (Potsdam, N.Y.), Edgewood (Madison, Wis.), St. Benedict (St. Joseph, Minn.), and St. Thomas (St. Paul, Minn.).

Premiere of yesteryear

The Loggers won two of their four matches in the 2016 Puget Sound Premiere, including a 3-1 non-conference triumph over Pacific Lutheran.

Conference prediction

NWC head coaches predict the Loggers to finish third in the league, according to the preseason poll. Whitworth is favored to win its fourth consecutive NWC title, and Pacific Lutheran is expected to place second.
