Puget Sound Premiere

The Loggers opened the 2017 season by going 2-2 in the Puget Sound Premiere (Sept. 1-2) in Memorial Fieldhouse. Hannah Stinson, Rachael Garrison, and Rita Dexter were named to the Puget Sound Premiere All-Tournament Team.

Early tests

Last weekend, the Loggers battled two teams that were receiving votes in the preseason American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll: Clarkson and St. Thomas. The Golden Knights beat Puget Sound, 3-1. Although the Tommies blanked the Loggers, 3-0, the score hardly reflects Puget Sound's efficiency on the tactical front. The Loggers are tasked with No. 3 Southwestern (Tex.) this Saturday.

Early leaders

Rita Dexter ranks third in the Northwest Conference with a .313 hitting percentage, and Moira McVicar is fourth with 74 assists. Rachael Garrison ranks third in the NWC with 70 digs.

Looking ahead

The Loggers begin their NWC slate at home against Whitman on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7p.m.
