McVicar, Dexter lead Loggers to season-finale win

PORTLAND, Oregon – The Puget Sound volleyball team closed out the 2017 season with a 3-1 (25-14, 25-27, 25-22, 25-19) win at Lewis & Clark Saturday night. The Loggers won four of the their last five games of the season.

Moira McVicar posted a double-double by leading all players with 39 assists, and she added 19 digs. Rita Dexter also posted a double-double, finishing with a team-high 11 kills to go along with 13 digs. Rachael Garrison finished with a game-high 33 digs.

As a team, Puget Sound (11-12, 7-8 NWC) hit .178, and limited the Pioneers (2-21, 1-14 NWC) to just .070.

Three seniors finished their collegiate careers by leading the 2017 Loggers in several statistics. Dexter capped off the year with 243 kills and 75 blocks. McVicar totaled 731 assists, and Garrison tallied 427 digs.
