TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound senior Rita Dexter was named to the All-Northwest Conference First Team, the league announced this week.
Dexter ranked sixth in the NWC with 243 kills during the 2017 season, and her .269 attack percentage also ranked sixth. Dexter also ranked fifth in total blocks with 75.
The Anchorage, Alaska, native set a personal record with 19 kills during an early-season win over Whitman (Sept. 15). She matched that later in the season during a win over Willamette (Oct. 27).
In addition to her offensive prowess, Dexter emerged as a prominent defender late in the season. She closed out the 2017 campaign with at least 13 digs in three of the season's final four matches, including a career-high 19 against Willamette (Oct. 27).
Dexter accounted for at least 20 points in four contests this fall.
