WALLA WALLA, Washington – Often times the eastern Washington trip is the toughest test for the Puget Sound volleyball program, but this year the Loggers aced it.
One day after beating Whitworth in five sets, the Loggers beat Whitman, 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 23-25, 25-20), Saturday evening.
The Loggers (8-6, 5-1 NWC) totaled 14 blocks, led by Melanie Siacotos with 5.5 blocks. She and Kristen Miguel tied for the match-high in kills with 11. Sarah Blumenfeld led all players with 26 assists.
The Blues (6-8, 2-4 NWC) were held to just a .106 hitting percentage.
Puget Sound returns to Memorial Fieldhouse for a 7 p.m. match against Willamette Friday, Oct. 5.
