Puget Sound women prepare for West Regionals

TACOMA, Washington – Eight Puget Sound women's cross country runners head to southern California for the NCAA D-III West Regional Championships, hosted by Occidental at the Pomona College Course in Claremont, California this Saturday, Nov. 11. 

 

Meet the runners

The following Loggers will compete on the regional stage: Abigail Dalke, Hannah Eshelman, Emma Hatton, Rachael Metzler, Samantha Schaffer, Eleanor Schnorr, Terra Wildon, and Alison Wise.

 

NWC Championships

The Puget Sound women placed third overall in the 2017 Northwest Conference Championships in Walla Walla, Washington (Oct. 28). Samantha Schaffer and Rachael Metzler both earned All-NWC Second Team honors, and Schaffer was named the NWC Freshman of the Year. Schaffer finished the race in sixth place, timing in at 22:54.7, and Metlzer placed 10th with a time of 23:04.5.

 

2016 Regionals

The Logger women placed ninth out of 19 teams in the 2016 NCAA D-III West Regional Championships. Among the 2017 returning Loggers from that team, Tera Wildon had the best finish by cross the line in 24:46.4, good for 58th out of 133 runners.
