Women's cross country places eighth at regionals

CLAREMONT, California – The Puget Sound women's cross country team place eighth out of 20 teams in the NCAA D-III West Regional Championships at Pomona-Pitzer Saturday morning.

Results

Freshman Samantha Schaffer was the Loggers' top finisher and earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-West Region, timing in at 22:29.69. The 2017 Northwest Conference Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Year placed 14th out of 138 runners.

Fellow freshman Rachael Metzler was the next Logger to finish. She placed 38th with a time of 23:21.61. Eleanor Schnorr finished 55th (24:08.09), and Abigail Dalke was 60th (24:14.86).
