Cross country teams ready for PLU Invitational

TACOMA, Washington – Two weeks after winning the Puget Sound Invitational, the Logger men's and women's cross country teams are back in action for the Pacific Lutheran Invitational Saturday, Sept. 15.

 

Couldn't ask for a better start

The Logger men and women won the Puget Sound Invitational (Sept. 1) in convincing fashion. In addition to the team wins, Emery Bradlina placed first in the women's race, and Colin Monaghan was victorious in the men's race. Both Bradlina and Monaghan were named the Northwest Conference Student-Athletes of the Week for cross country.

 

Rounding out the top 10

In addition to Colin Monaghan, two more Logger men placed in the top 10 of the Puget Sound Invitational: Basil Engledow (5th) and Liam Monaghan (7th). Samantha Schaffer (3rd), Abigail Dalke (4th), Eleanor Schnorr (6th) placed top 10 in the women's race.

 

Regional ranks

The Puget Sound women enter this weekend ranked No. 8 in the West Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

 

Looking ahead

The Loggers' next race after this weekend is the Charles Bowles Invitational hosted by Willamette, Sept. 29.
