Puget Sound earns 111 NWC Scholar-Athletes

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound earned 111 Northwest Conference Scholar-Athlete honors, the NWC announced Tuesday. Meghan Bacher '17 and Hans Fortune '17 both earned NWC First Team Scholar-Athlete nods. In order to qualify, NWC Scholar-Athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Bacher was the top graduating female student-athlete for the Loggers, holding a 3.94 GPA in cellular and molecular biology. She also led the 2017 Logger lacrosse team in scoring, finishing her final collegiate season with 26 goals and 35 points.

Fortune graduated with a 3.84 GPA in economics and business, and he was just as successful on the gridiron as he was in the classroom. Fortune set Puget Sound career records for passing yards (6,852), total offense (6,903), and passing touchdowns (58).

Three Logger teams placed 10 or more NWC Scholar-Athletes: football (14), women's crew (12), and lacrosse (11).
